Real, Usable Access to SharePoint from Mobile Phones (Network World)
Apparently Microsoft Windows Phone 7 is going to support SharePoint natively. In other words, no more hokey web interface access to a product that is already a bit of a pain to navigate. If you’re like many people, your company uses SharePoint to organize data and projects. We do the same at our consulting firm. Instead of using a local NAS to store our internal and client documentation, we just create sites inside SharePoint and use that. Continue reading this entry »

Good morning, and happy Friday. I’m Chris Dooley, Community Manager for Bamboo Nation. Not long after I started at Bamboo, I was given the task of assembling and publishing a daily newsletter of notable SharePoint news. It took me a few months to work out the exact approach that I wanted to take, but eventually SharePoint Daily was born. It’s two years later now, and it’s been the rare day when Daily hasn’t been published (I’ve even been known to post while home sick). After two years of posts, and having read thousands of blogs and news articles to find what I feel are the most interesting stories to share, I have decided that it’s time to take a few days off. In celebration of our two year anniversary, Daily and I will both be taking a vacation, and are planning to spend next week relaxing on the couch, watching way too many movies and trying to avoid answering our emails. Have a great week everyone, and see you again on July 26 for the beginning of SharePoint Daily: Year Three.  [:D] Continue reading this entry »

On the platform level, Ballmer said Microsoft has a leg over Amazon for customers who want a private and customized infrastructure. Continue reading this entry »
